Tom is Atlas’ founder and chief engineer, specializing in assessing and repairing damaged buildings and structures. He deals with structural damage caused by fire, explosion, earthquake, and wind, but also addresses the more common building ailments caused by age and decay. Tom is a collapse rescue engineer on Federal and State USAR teams, and is on-call with other agencies for assessing severe structural damage.
Chris has extensive experience in the assessment and evaluation of existing structures. He has designed both temporary and permanent repairs to older structures for renovation and repair projects. He has provided consulting engineering work for universities, pharmaceutical companies, industrial manufacturing companies, and government agencies. He has investigated numerous structural failures and has presented seminars on ASCE-7 Wind Loading and Structural Collapse. Chris is a member of the NC USAR TF8 Emergency Response Team.
Since the start of her career, Kelli has applied her architectural engineering background to a wide variety of projects including repair and replacement design and construction administration services for roofing, exterior walls, and above and below grade waterproofing; building condition assessments, code compliance evaluations, facility asset management programs, and special structural inspections during construction. She has performed these services for public and private clients responsible for educational, industrial, institutional, commercial, government, pharmaceutical, and residential facilities.
With a focus on personal interaction with clients to ensure the highest level of quality, Lee has extensive experience with the analysis of existing structures, repair design, upgrade/reinforcement details, platforms, cranes/hoists, materials handling systems, and concrete repairs. Lee’s private sector clients include manufacturing, research, and pharmaceutical companies. He also works with federal, state, and local government agencies and university systems and is a member of the North Carolina USAR TF8 emergency response team.
After teaching civil engineering at NC State for two years, Matt joined Atlas in 2013, designing structure modifications, upgrades, restoration, and retrofits. He also performs building condition assessments and structural investigations and is an on-call engineer with FEMA Urban Search and Rescue teams.
Rob’s expertise is in roof and wall system evaluations, quality assurance, moisture intrusion investigation of roof and wall systems, and preparing details plans and specifications for roof and wall systems. He has provided consulting services to public and private clients including institutional facilities, correctional institutions, education facilities, industrial facilities, pharmaceutical facilities, cold storage, and military bases.
Jim’s expertise is in the assessment and evaluation of building envelope systems including existing roofing, waterproofing and exterior walls. He has completed roofing replacement and repair designs for multi-million dollar projects and specializes in providing construction administration, specialized consulting services, onsite quality assurance and construction oversight for both private and public sector clients. Jim has performed roof visual and moisture entry investigations, infrared thermographic and nuclear moisture gauge surveys, and numerous building envelope condition assessments. Jim holds both Registered Roof Observer (RRO) and Registered Exterior Wall Observer (REWO) certifications from the Roof Consulting Institute.
Stan began his consulting experience after twelve years in the nuclear power industry at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power plant with Carolina Power and Light. Over the past twenty two years he has supported a myriad of internal building system and building envelope designs, including several multi-million dollar roof designs. His familiarity of computer aided design and graphic software provides clear, correct and understandable technical drawings for our clients or contractors. Stan also provides the IT support and is the office manager.
With a background in commercial roofing and construction project management, Albert specializes in providing construction administration, oversight, and onsite quality control on both private and public sector projects. He has provided design support and on-site quality control for multi-million dollar projects with Fortune 500 clients. Albert is a member of the Roof Consultants Institute, Inc. (RCI).
Hannah is a recent graduate from North Carolina State University. Her background focuses on structural design, construction material testing, general contracting practices, and land development/design. Hannah aids Atlas’ principal engineers in the assessment of existing structures, design of building repairs, structural calculations, and project construction administration.
